Brabant Draft Horse Day

From Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, the fair, music, Halloween, and the rich tradition of the Brabant Draft Horse will be brought together for the nineteenth time in the village center of Vollezele.

What began 19 years ago as a simple fair on Oudstrijdersplein has—driven by the*Vollezele Leeft* organization—grown into a three-day festive weekend that draws thousands of visitors to Vollezele each year.

The scope of activities has expanded over the years. In addition to the village fair, Halloween and the Day of the Brabant Draft Horse have become permanent fixtures on the calendar. Thus, a local fair evolved into an event where leisure and local heritage come together.

Vollezele played a significant role in the history of the Belgian draft horse, a connection that is highlighted once again during the October weekend. The museum is open all day, with guided tours at 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.

Special attention is given to Constant De Busschere, an important animal sculptor and painter of the Belgian draft horse.
